Organic porridge oats 1kg
Rice syrup 450 ml
Coconut oil or corn oil 250 ml
Uunsulphered apricots/ dates 500G
Pinch sea salt
..... makes 24
cook apricots/dates with water to cover plus tiny pinch salt until water almost gone and soft 10-15mins
in large saucepan heat rice syrup and oil till warm and rice syrup is more runny.. mix in oats and pinch salt until well mixed
put half oat mixture in oiled baking dish (square is best)
flatten with damp hands
spread on apricot 'mush'
spread over the rest of oat mix
bake about 180 deg for 10 mins or until lightly golden around edges
cool / cut /eat ..... will store for about a week or so if you can resist them!!!!
Date and walnut munchies
De-stone the dates and squash in soaked walnuts...easy!
